Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before starting therapy.

Do I need to speak perfect Spanish or English?

Not at all. Many of my clients mix both languages — Spanglish is welcome here. You can express yourself however feels most natural, and we'll understand each other.

Is therapy only for people with severe mental illness?

Absolutely not. Therapy is for anyone who wants to understand themselves better, navigate challenges, or improve their quality of life. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is primarily about getting to know you. I'll ask about your background, what's bringing you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, I currently operate in Mexico, so I am unable to accept United States insurance providers.

How long does therapy take?

It varies. Some people find relief in a few months; others prefer longer-term support. We'll regularly check in about your progress and adjust as needed. You're always in control.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes, with rare legal exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm). Your privacy is protected by law and by my professional ethics.

Do you only offer therapy in a specific state?

I'm licensed and operate in Mexico, so I can provide online therapy sessions no matter where you're based.

What if I've had bad experiences with therapy before?

I'm sorry that happened. The therapeutic relationship is key, and not every psychologist is the right fit. I encourage you to share any concerns upfront so we can build something that actually works for you.
